Water Heating

Commercial water heater installation in LA & Orange County

Hot water is a daily operating cost for restaurants, apartment buildings, gyms, offices and other facilities. We help property owners and managers compare tankless, heat pump and condensing tank-type systems, then install the one that fits the building's hot water demand, fuel type and available space. We also serve homeowners.

  • Heat pump models use far less electricity than standard electric tanks
  • Sized to your building's hot water demand, fuel type and space

Options

Water heating options we offer

Heat pump water heaters

Move heat from the surrounding air into the tank instead of generating it directly, using far less electricity than a standard electric-resistance tank. A fit for buildings moving to all-electric.

Tankless water heaters

Heat water on demand so there is no tank kept hot around the clock. Compact, wall-mounted units free up space in tight mechanical rooms, and several units can be combined for higher demand.

Condensing tank-type heaters

Capture extra heat from exhaust gases for higher efficiency than a conventional gas tank, with the stored hot water that busy kitchens and multifamily buildings rely on.

FAQ

Water heating questions

Which is better for a commercial building: tankless or heat pump?

It depends on the building. Heat pump water heaters suit properties going electric and need a space with enough surrounding air, such as a mechanical room or garage. Tankless units suit buildings with limited floor space and adequate gas or electrical service. We walk through both during your consultation.

Will a heat pump water heater need electrical work?

Sometimes. Many heat pump water heaters need a dedicated circuit, and some buildings need electrical service or panel upgrades. We check this during the consultation so there are no surprises.

Are there rebates for commercial water heater upgrades?

Commercial and multifamily rebate programs may apply to qualifying water heater upgrades. Availability, amounts and eligibility change and are not guaranteed, so we check eligibility and review the current options with you before work starts.

Which programs may apply to a heat pump water heater?

Depending on the property and location, programs such as TECH Clean California, SoCalREN and Go Zero may support heat pump water heater upgrades. Each program sets its own eligibility, incentive amounts and funding, which can change, and some need approval before work starts, so we confirm what is currently available for your property first.

Where can a heat pump water heater be installed?

Heat pump water heaters draw heat from the surrounding air, so they work best in a mechanical room, garage or roomy utility area with good airflow, and they need a drain for condensate. We look at your current equipment location during the consultation and explain any changes needed.

How long does a water heater replacement take?

Most like-for-like replacements are completed in a day. Switching to heat pump or tankless units can take longer if electrical, gas or venting changes are needed. We give you a timeline after the consultation and schedule the work to keep hot water downtime short for tenants and staff.
